The Austrian German Language Diploma (ÖSD) – your key to new opportunities!
The ÖSD, which stands for “Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch”, is a state-recognized examination format for German as a foreign and second language. With an ÖSD certificate, you can officially prove your German language skills – be it for obtaining Austrian citizenship, admission to Austrian universities or for professional qualifications.

Can I use a dictionary during the exam?
Whether the use of a dictionary is permitted during the exam depends on the exam level. For exam levels A1, A2 and B1, you are not allowed to use a dictionary. For levels B2 and above, either monolingual or bilingual dictionaries may be used.
How can I prepare for an ÖSD exam?
The ÖSD exams test language skills in reading, listening, writing and speaking. A preparation course at Lernpoint is the ideal place to train these skills in 6 to 12 hours. ÖSD model exams are used for preparation, which are also available free of charge on the website www.osd.at can be called up.
